Tirta Gangga Bali: Famous tourist Destination, Place of interest

Tirta Gangga is just north of Karangasem on the slopes of Mount Agung. It is water playground designed by a prince in the Royal Family of Karangasem as a resting place. One of the prettiest places in Bali, Tirtagangga is a well-maintained pool complex built by the last raja of Karangasem, Raja Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut, in 1947 with corvee labor on the site of a sacred spring emerging from under a banyan tree. The site of a small water temple, these formal, almost Italian-style water gardens were one of the old raja's weekend retreats. Before this park is found, there is big wellspring found in this area which the local society believe that this water come from the land is holy spring therefore they call this place is Embukan means wellspring. According to the local believe that this wellspring functioning as a bath place for the god and also used as drinking water for the local community from the nearest village. Therefore this wellspring is sacrificed by local people and keeps the park naturally, it becomes one of the famous tourist destinations in east part of Bali.
